For those asking which airline, when the camera pans, you can see the Turkish airlines logo. Turkey is a very cat friendly country and Turkish is a pet friendly airline. I can't attest to cats being out of cages, but in istanbul there is a dedicated pet check in lane. Oh... and its bidness class

Adoption The sweetest one year old kitten needs a new home in Chicago, IL (URGENT)

Female, spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. I found her as a stray with a broken tail and pelvis and nursed her back to health (she had to have surgery to remove the tail so she is tail-less!) Her age is an approximation from the vet.

She is so precious, extremely cuddly and affectionate. Loves laying right up on your chest by your face. Playful and energetic but nothing super crazy for a kitten.

I am rehoming her as she is showing aggression with my 10 year old soul cat and I cannot bear to put her through any trauma or stress. I love this kitten so much but I do not have the time and motivation right now to introduce them.

I am giving her away for free and with her have some toys, a litterbox, and a very nice cat tree that I can give you as well (all free). I really want to give her to someone who really wants a cat. She is very special and deserves a special home. If you are interested, please message me and tell me why you think you’d be a good fit! I am looking to rehome urgently.

Advice Found this sweet angel today!

Thumbnail

Found this sweetheart under our work truck today. I heard meowing coming from the truck, and she was in the wheel well!! She hopped out and continued to meow furiously, and walked around a bit dazed. At first I thought she was just a cat who lived nearby, but we were in the middle of the city and she kept walking around the condos we were working at crying. She would look around for long periods of time, and something seemed off about her behavior. I asked all of the neighbors and the superintendent if anyone knew whose she was, but no one had a clue.

I took her to a vet to have her scanned, and got a hit! Name, phone number, and email address. I called and texted the number but no response. I emailed but no response either. I looked up the name and the only thing I could find is an ongoing divorce case with the owner, and her wife’s name. The case has the name of her attorney listed. I feel bad reaching out to her divorce attorney, as it’s a very intimate detail that I now know. Even more of an intimate detail is that her wife is apparently missing as well, which means I can’t reach out to her. How long should I wait to reach out to her attorney? The attorney should be willing to reach out to her on my behalf right? I have the owners address as well (could be an old one, it was 30 mins from where I found her) but that seems over the line, just showing up unannounced. It’s only been one day, but I know when I lost my cat I was going crazy! It was a terrible experience.

Also she slept the whole way to my house, 45 minutes away. Then slept all day here, outside of eating and using the litter box. She was obviously very exhausted from the experience, I don’t know how long she’s been out but she’s 1000% a house cat/lap cat šŸ˜‚ I doubt she gets out very often, if at all.

Mourning/Loss Abandoned by my family

She’s not dead or anything. She was abandoned by my family after I got kicked out, somewhere around the outskirts of town. I spent days looking, I put up posters, I cried and screamed her name across the streets for the longest time, I made posts online in my area.

Never found my baby. I miss you sweetie. I hope you’re okay out there. Sadly, knowing that you were a house cat all your life and that you had breast cancer, I’m not very sure if you’re still alive at all. My poor granny. Her name was Grandma Macaroni. I’m sorry for the sad post, I just don’t have anyone to share this grief with since I’m homeless and couch-hopping with people that don’t really care.

GOOD NEWS/UPDATE

She has been found and is currently safe with someone! Will be taking her with me tomorrow 😭 I am so glad someone told me to look on Facebook, someone found her and is taking care of her and I couldn’t be more glad to see her cute little face even on a picture. I’m currently waiting for the person to contact me back since it’s like 2 AM right now!!! But SHE IS FOUND AND SAFE AND WILL BE HOME SOON! ā¤ļøšŸ˜

I'm more and more convinced that these two are both babies and little devils who know exactly how to get extra treats and love lol

Look at that walk!

Jokes aside, I genuinely can hardly explain the love I feel for them!

They were colony cats (trapped quite late at 4 and 6, now they are 6 and 8...ish) and it's just... so crazy that they are so brave now!

Shy cats who need a bit of extra love are truly the best!

Last night while taking out the bins my kitty got out the door. We managed to get her back after a few hours of searching, but she was having poisoning symptoms

She’s in the vets now for at least 24hrs.

Coming home and seeing her last litterbox pee has made me really emotional. I just miss my baby

Please send thoughts her way

Cat Picture - OC here’s a neighbourhood cat i’d been feeding everyday! two weeks ago i found her unable to move her hind legs and covered in blood, barely responsive. took her to the vet and she healed up like an absolute champ. she’s not a neighbourhood cat anymore :)

please say hi to my little baby starfish :)

my mum thought of that name and i think it’s perfect!

her hind legs are still recovering but she’s not letting that stop her from having fun!

photos are from when she was a neighbourhood cat all the way up to today! she’s living with us now <3

i think she likes me heheh

edit: a lot of comments asking what happened to her and honestly i don’t know :( and i don’t have it in me to look at the camera footage of her getting hurt.

the vet suspected spinal trauma, and super fortunately there wasn’t anything scary on the xray. he did suggest an mri after that, but her recovery in just a day made the vet reconsider on the mri.

she presented with diarrhoea, rectal bleeding and an inability to use her back legs but within a day her poops were solid, blood free and she was beginning to walk!

shes now on L-Sametine twice a day to help with nerve health, and RC’s gastro wet food since the kibbles (N&D prime) didn’t seem to work for her too well. i’m also giving her salmon oil once a day.

i’ve also put up climbing surfaces in my room since she can’t jump right now and she’s using them! she climbs up on my bed all on her own using the steps :)

her recovery’s gonna take a while but we’re with her through it all :)

Medical Questions 10 months after getting spayed and her belly fur never came back?

Thumbnail

26.8k Upvotes

As you can see her belly is still bald 10 months after being spayed. Like a tiny bit of peach fuzz around the edges and nothing else. She never licked at the area and had a cone on for 13 days post surgery. I don’t understand why the fur isn’t growing back she looks ridiculous 😭. Is this normal? Will it ever come back?

EDIT: I work from home 3 days a week and I’m home a lot and she is pretty much glued to me most of the day and never see her grooming there excessively but possible she does it when I’m not looking. I’ll ask the vet next time we go. Im surprised there are so many other people here with bald belly cats cause the Internet research I did not seem to think that was a thing! It makes me feel better knowing there is a belly cat gang out there I guess I will embrace the pooch if the vet says it’s just a thing that can’t be helped!

Cat Picture - OC Meet Helena!

Me and my wife found a stray kitten that was abandoned by its mom in a friend's back yard. We were hoping the mom would come back, but after coming back the next day finding the kitten still there, we felt like we had no choice but to take it. That night it was going to get very very cold so we took her straight to the vet. Now she's doing great!

Funny enough we were on our way to a My chemical romance concert at the time, so we ended up naming her Helena after the last song they played that night!

I've seen a lot of kittens online do this, they should be licking themselves if they are cleaning but that's not it right?

I don’t think I’m ā€œreadyā€ for a cat BUT she’s just so sweet and precious.

I will be keeping her. Thank you for all the kind words regarding my late Gigi.

I wonder how they’ve would’ve gotten along. 🄲

Love you Gigi, this is Bo.

This is Leslye, my 15-year-old cat. ā¤ļø

She was with me when I graduated high school, college, and most recently graduate school.

She’s been there through exams, all-nighters, heartbreaks, mental health struggles, career changes, and every milestone in between. She has no idea what a diploma is, but she’s earned every one of them with me.

I know 15 is a wonderful age for a cat, and seeing these photos side by side makes me feel incredibly lucky that she’s still here. I just wanted to share my little academic accountability buddy with fellow cat lovers.

Mourning/Loss Gizmo suddenly no more😰😭

Gizmo passed away suddenly on Monday evening. His body shut down after he suffered a severe seizure. What is still burned into my memory is seeing that he suddenly couldn't get his hindquarters off the ground. He fought helplessly to stand up but couldn't manage it. I was standing outside and saw it through the window into the kitchen. I ran inside immediately; he wasn't breathing, his muscles were moving strangely and becoming weaker and weaker. I panicked and massaged his belly and back; he wasn't moving or breathing at all anymore. I tried to move him awake, and then he made a coughing, hacking sound. But only when I shook him, and that didn't help either. After that, he was just very limp, and feces and urine had leaked out of him. We went to the vet. Because at first, I could still hear his heart beating. A little later, I couldn't hear that anymore either, and a blue tongue was visible. In hindsight, based on information and my description, it turned out to have been a blood clot that acutely paralyzed his hind legs. The muscles die off and the body goes into shock. The cat loses consciousness. The heart cannot release pressure, becomes overloaded, and stops. After this, the brain no longer receives oxygen. The fact that we could still hear the little heart beating was probably muscle spasms of the heart, not the heart pumping. Apparently, Gizmo had an invisible heart condition: HCM. A cat can hide this very well and looks healthy. We are devastated by grief, and his presence is deeply missed. We never saw this coming. Gizmo R.I.P dear
