Health Healthcare costs
I work in a hse facility, I don't want to give any info of where exactly so I'll be using "facility". We are all hse employees, hse rules and so on.
We have a patient that we need to stay for longer than initially planned, I mean that as in our staff dealing with him medically think he needs extra treatment. Here's where the title comes in about cost, everyone assumes it's free in Ireland no matter what's wrong with you. We had to contact his insurance to see if he's covered because otherwise it's €875 a day, he's not covered so we are discharging him on Friday.
We've always had fees but we are slowly slowly turning into an American style system.
Edit: As I said in reply to someone else. I can't lie and pretend I know the ins and outs of who pays what and why or who gets discharged what reasons. I was only involved in the conversation about this patient because I deal directly with them for certain things.

Moaning Michael Have Charity Shops Officially Gone to the Dogs?
I was in a charity shop and saw this nasty albeit brand new coat hanger. Still had its tag on from TK Maxx for €9.99. Charity shop charging €10 for it.
I feel like these shops used to be proper fun to go to and a place where you might find a great bargain if you were thrifty enough. But in recent times, everything is ridiculously overpriced for what you are getting.
I know it’s 1c but marking up an item in a charity / second hand shop seems like ridiculous behaviour to me. Is everyone having similar bad experiences to me in these places?

Der All Snakes Hun Can’t get over how rude some people are
I (F25) know myself I struggle to get over things but I was recently at a concert in Dublin and had paid good money to access the ‘golden circle’ so as I was trying to make my way to the access point I had to squeeze through the crowd. It was a lovely summer evening and I wasn’t drinking so I was being as polite as possible. The people in the crowd were enjoying their drinks and waiting for the concert to start as I was doing this I reached this one couple in the crowd maybe in their 40s and at first I didn’t realise the man was using his strength to stop me squeezing past him and I eventually made my way past him and he then shouted out at me “go easy ignorant pig”. It was actually weeks ago but I keep thinking about how incredibly rude someone could be to another person at a sunny summer concert just mad
